Meet “Ricky” and “Lucy”, two gorgeous Macaws from Schererville, IN.

Ricky (Ruby Macaw) and Lucy (Catalina Macaw) have been friends since they were hatchlings, and they are 25-years old. Since they are long-time friends they need to go to a home together!

They love to vocalize and say things like “Hi” “Food!” and “I love you!”, and are not adopted into places with multiple-dwellings like condos, apartments, etc because of their volume.  They are beautiful birds and looking for a forever home!

The Bichon Frise. A cheerful, happy dog, the Bichon Frise is small and sturdy with a dark-eyed inquisitive expression and a plumed tail it carries merrily over the back. The Bichon is a naturally gentle, playful dog. He loves activity and requires regular exercise. His hair grows continually and does not shed, so extensive grooming is a must to prevent mats. Bichons also tend to be a good breed for allergy sufferers.

The coat must be white, but may have shadings of buff, cream or apricot around the ears or on the body. Height is 91/2 to 11 1/2 inches to the withers. 

personal note: We have a family dog in addition to my puppy, and he is a Bichon. He is older now so he’s gotten into a bit of a ‘dementia’ state, which happens sometimes to any breed in their ‘elder years’ But i grew up with this breed and we loved him, he was always playful and fun and perfect for us kids (but we were gentle!)

he (Chucky!) is intelligent and he learn cool tricks very fast. in fact, in history, Bichons were used as circus dogs! only thing i will say is that Bichons can be hard to house train at first, and Chucky proved that to us, but he caught on ;]

Colorado Horse Rescue (CHR) is a non-profit organization funded in 1986 by two friends; Sharon Jackson and Jill Pratt. They dedicated their lives and organization to providing emergency relief, shelter, care, rehabilitation, and adoption services for abused, neglected, abandoned and unwanted horses.

They are based in Longmont, Co. and really care for their horses (and miniature horses!). CHR provides community resources through equine education, counseling, information and referral services. Also, the adoption placement process is very intricate because they want all their horses going to good homes who will care for them forever!

Let me introduce you to Gentle Giants Rescue and Adoptions, based in Riverside County, CA.

This non-profit organization is the largest “large-breed” rescue in the world, and is founded by (former-actor) Burt Ward and his wife Tracy (and daughter Melody). More than 11,600 giant breed dogs and some smaller breed dogs have been rescued and adopted into safe, loving homes during the last 15 years by the Wards. They take in ‘giant’ breeds from all over the U.S. and Canada and some ‘little’ breeds on a need-basis.

They have been caring for giant breeds for years and really care for their dogs, they even feed them their own home-made food that based on keeping the dogs healthy and happy. The Ward’s have a huge heart for these animals and make sure their dogs are all placed in proper, loving homes with appropriate care.

They take in a wide-variety of large breed dogs, such as ; Great Danes, Bullmastiffs, Borzoi, Great Pyrenees, Greyhounds, Newfoundlands, Leonbergers, Irish Wolfhounds, and many more!

Meet “Sadie”, a pretty 7 year old Shetland Sheepdog from Mulkeytown, IL.
